Here it comes! Beijing team registers McGee, officially altering the CBA championship landscape.

Successfully obtained the CBA work permit, officially certified as a formal signing.

Before the start of the second stage this season, Beijing team completed McGee's registration at the buzzer, meaning he can play in the CBA from today. He is expected to make his debut this Wednesday in the home game against Sichuan, the bottom-ranked team in the league.

Frontcourt McGee + Zhou Qi + Zeng Fanbo, backcourt Zhao Rui + Chen Yingjun, Beijing team's current roster is brimming with talent. Currently ranked seventh in the league with 14 wins and 9 losses, the only thing that might hinder their championship pursuit is injuries.

McGee, born on January 19, 1988, stands 2.13 meters tall with a wingspan of 2.29 meters and possesses historically elite athletic ability. As the 18th overall pick in the 2008 draft, his NBA career spanned 16 years. During that time, he averaged 16.1 minutes per game in the regular season, contributing 7.6 points, 5 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks. In the playoffs, he averaged 12.4 minutes, scoring 5.6 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, and blocking 1 shot per game, and he holds three championship rings.

After the 23-24 season, McGee, having no NBA opportunities, moved to overseas leagues. He first joined the Puerto Rican league team Bayamon Wanderers and helped the team win the championship.Before joining Beijing team this season, he played for the Australian NBL club Illawarra Hawks, averaging 19.3 points, 10 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game in 25 minutes of play, with a shooting percentage of 56%.

In summary, even though McGee is 38 years old, he can still dominate in leagues outside the NBA.

Of course, some so-called star foreign players, possibly including McGee, might struggle to adapt when coming to the CBA. For example, former NBA Sixth Man of the Year Harrell, in the 24-25 season with Xinjiang team, averaged only 12.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game in the regular season, far below expectations, and was found to have violated doping regulations.
