On March 10 Beijing time, the WTT Chongqing Champions commenced. Today marks the first competition day, featuring five Chinese participants. So far, two have been eliminated and two have progressed. Kuaiman unleashed full force, overpowering Samara 3-0. In the domestic duel, Huang Youzheng fell 1-3 to Zhou Qihao. Favorite Wang Manyu delivered a huge upset, losing decisively 0-3 to Otomo Satsuki. Thus, Kuaiman and Zhou Qihao advanced for China, while Huang Youzheng and Wang Manyu experienced a first-round exit!

Kuaiman versus Samara. This match was a clash between generations, with a significant age gap. Kuaiman, young and aggressive, faced Samara, older and slower-paced. The outcome was clear, leading to a one-sided contest. Kuaiman maintained dominance on court, exerting absolute pressure on Samara, scoring easily on returns, ultimately defeating her opponent in straight sets 3-0. The scores were 11-5, 11-5, and 11-6!

Huang Youzheng versus Zhou Qihao. This match was an internal Chinese team battle, where either could win or lose, but one would inevitably be eliminated. Both familiar with each other, neither could secure an easy victory. The match ignited from the first set, reaching crucial points where Huang Youzheng couldn't capitalize, narrowly losing 10-12. In the second set, Zhou Qihao pressed forward, delivering high-quality attacks to suppress Huang, securing another win 11-6. The third set saw Huang refusing defeat, launching a fierce counterattack to claim 11-6 and recover one set. In the fourth set, Huang tenaciously clung to the score despite trailing, yet still lacked the final push, struggling to score at key moments, losing 9-11. Ultimately, Huang fell 1-3 to Zhou Qihao, becoming the first Chinese player eliminated!

Wang Manyu versus Otomo Satsuki. This match was today's highlight, also a China-Japan showdown. Otomo Satsuki is a rising Japanese player with strong challenge potential, yet pre-match expectations favored Wang Manyu's advancement. Surprisingly, the result defied predictions. Wang Manyu appeared sluggish, her offense muted, unable to penetrate her opponent, quickly collapsing under pressure, struggling to counter, and conceding too many serves, leading to a 0-3 loss. The set scores were 6-11, 5-11, and 3-11. Undeniably, this match was a super upset. Notably, Wang Manyu has been China's most stable player in international matches, yet now unavoidably lost, broken by Otomo Satsuki, becoming the second Chinese elimination. Indeed, the arena has no permanent victor; Wang Manyu needs to reflect on her performance!
