Up to 9 players are barred from playing in round 16 of V-League because they have received enough yellow or red cards in earlier matches.
Prior to round 16 V-League, the tournament organizers announced the list of players suspended from competition. In total, 9 players from various teams cannot participate as they have reached the stipulated limit of yellow cards or must serve suspensions for red cards received in the previous round.
Notably, the clash between SHB Đà Nẵng and HAGL will see each team lose one player due to accumulating three yellow cards. On the side of the Han River team, naturalized midfielder Đỗ Phi Long will be absent, while HAGL will miss the services of Trần Thanh Sơn.
In the match between Thép Xanh Nam Định and Đông Á Thanh Hóa, the Thanh region team faces even greater difficulties due to significant losses. Two players, Huỳnh Minh Đoàn and Lê Văn Thắng, are suspended after receiving three yellow cards, forcing Đông Á Thanh Hóa's coaching staff to reconsider their personnel plans for the challenging away trip.
The match between Hà Nội FC and SLNA also has two players sidelined. Hà Nội FC will be without foreign player Floro Da Silva Daniel following his red card in the previous round. Meanwhile, SLNA's central defender Hoàng Văn Khánh is suspended due to accumulating three yellow cards.
Besides the above cases, several other players are also unavailable for round 16 for similar reasons. Geovane Magno Candido Silveira of Phù Đổng Ninh Bình will be absent in the match against CAHN. Nguyễn Thanh Nhàn of PVF-CAND must miss the match against Công an TP.HCM, while Triệu Việt Hưng of Hải Phòng FC cannot play in the encounter with Thể Công - Viettel.
The suspension of many players due to disciplinary sanctions poses significant squad challenges for several teams ahead of round 16. In the context of the intense points race this season, both at the top and bottom of the table, each absence could substantially impact the dynamics of the upcoming matches.
